MOHAN THAL

INGREDIENTS:
Gram flour (besan) 2 cups (260g)
Sugar ½ cup (150g)
Milk 2 tbsp (30ml)
Pure ghee (melted) ½ cup+2 tbsp
Chopped almonds 10 + 10
& cashew nuts
Nutmeg powder ½ tbsp
Water 1 cup

  1. Sieve gram flour and mix with warm milk and two tablespoons of ghee with your fingers into the texture of bread crumbs.
    Set aside.
  2. Heat gram flour, stirring continuously until ghee in a pan and sauté the golden brown and it gives out its aroma.
    Set aside.
  3. Heat a pan and add sugar and water to make a sugar syrup of more than one thread consistency. Add nutmeg powder, the cooked gram flour and keep stirring until it comes away from the sides of the pan.
  4. Grease flat plate with a tablespoon of ghee and pour the gram flour mixture onto it.
    Flatten it evenly up to one-inch thick, garnish with almonds and cashew nuts and allow it to cool.
  5. Cut into pieces and serve.
