Travel & Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) president Nilesh Shah discusses the future of Goa’s main industry post-pandemic after his recent re-election to the organization’s top post.
For an industry still reeling under the effects of the COVID pandemic, tourism in Goa has a lot to catch up on. The issue of quality tourists, the preservation of culture and ecology, the solution to the garbage crisis and the need to involve locals at every step continues to plague Goa.
Nilesh Shah was recently re-elected for his second term as president of the Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG), a non-profit, non-governmental body representing the hotel and travel trade in the state. The partner and founder of Purshottham Bhagwan and Associates travel company was earlier TTAG president from 2020-22.
The TTAG is looking forward to collaborating with the government to resolve pending issues including a convention centre near the Tourism Department office in Patto, and improve the travel and tourism sector.
Shah opens up to VIVA GOA about TTAG plans post COVID, the challenges, and expectations from the government.
