Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), South Asia’s largest hospitality company, today announced the opening of a new amã Stays & Trails heritage bungalow – La Maison – in Panaji, Goa. Located in Fontainhas – popularly known as Goa’s Latin quarter, the villa is an eight room architectural marvel which also houses Desbue, an elegant dining offering Portuguese-Goan and western cuisine.
Built-in the 1940s, La Maison is a blend of Goan-Portuguese architecture and modern comforts to provide a home-like indulgence. Set amidst a heritage neighborhood built in the 19th century, the emerald green structure stands tall neighboring the 1800s St. Sebastian chapel. The villa’s artistic wooden doors, tinted vintage tiles, overhead balconies, and red-tiled roofs complement the modish decor and chic furnishings creating a comforting space for a classic Goan rendezvous.
In addition to La Maison, the brand will soon launch a new bungalow – Chikoo Villa in Anjuna. Nestled amidst serene environs with close proximity to the beach, Goa’s finest restaurants, and the colorful local experience, the luxurious villa once owned by a Goan family is a hundred-year-old legacy restored.
