Sharada Mandir School, Miramar, recently launched its first alumni association, appointing chairman of Dempo Group and eminent
industrialist, Shrinivas Dempo, as its charter president along with an executive board to guide the newly formalised alumni association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Guest, Justice Valmiki Menezes, Judge of Bombay High Court (Goa bench), an alumnus of the 1983 batch, described the moment as a \u201chomecoming\u201d and urged the alumni body to serve as a constructive force rather than merely a platform for reunions. He emphasised the importance of upholding citizens\u2019 rights and called on every individual to fulfil this role.<\/p>\n\n\n

President Dempo, a member of the 1985 batch shares, \u201cTo return to the school which shaped my early years and take on this responsibility means a great deal.\u201d He further states, \u201cthe continued attachment of alumni gives this association its purpose,\u201d adding
that it aims to create opportunities for alumni to mentor, share experiences and contribute to the school.<\/p>\n\n\n

Chairman of the Board of Trustees & renowned industrialist Dattaraj Salgaocar traced the school\u2019s evolution from its early days, when the campus had a lone building and a sandpit, to its present status as a modern educational facility. \u201cFor over 50 years, Sharada Mandir has been a place where friendships were formed and students set out on different paths,\u201d he shares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vice President of the alumni association, a member of the 1985 batch Kedar Dhume, Managing Director of Advertising Associate Group and founder-editor of Viva Goa, introduced President Dempo at the function.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dempo then administered the oath of office to the executive committee of the alumni association.<\/p>\n\n\n

The executive committee includes Kedar Dhume as vice president, company secretary, head of legal and ESG at Kineco Ltd, Manisha Shirgaonkar as secretary, and chartered accountant Shilpa Deshpande as treasurer. Other members include Vishwesh Kamat,
Nida Sayed, Devansh Cholera, Gina Maria Silveira, Rekha Jyothi Panvelkar, Sandhya Pai Vernekar, Gaurav Pradhan, Sanghavi Naik, Vedant Uddhav Pawar, Sanaa Razak and Louann Marie Alvares.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
