Renowned Konkani writer and editor Chandrakant Keni\u2019s 90th birth anniversary was celebrated by honouring veteran journalist Dharmanand Kamat with the Chandrakant Keni Memorial Journalist Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former editor of Navprabha Suresh Walve, Gomantak editor-director Raju Nayak and Prudent Network editorial director Pramod Acharya attended the ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keni was an icon of the Konkani movement and the Opinion Poll, and dedicated his life to drawing attention to his mother tongue.<\/p>\n\n\n

Dharmanand Kamat\u2019s career is spread over 50 years. He has worked instrumental in conceptualising several major projects, including the upcoming mega Petrochemical Complex at Paradip, that is poised to significantly expand IndianOil\u2019s footprint in the sector. Sahney is a strong advocate for a people-centric culture and is committed to strengthening IndianOil\u2019s core business while expanding its green energy initiatives. His vision for the company aligns with the global shift towards sustainability, positioning IndianOil as a leader in the energy sector.
He also chairs Terra Clean Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary (WoS) of IndianOil focused on sustainable solutions, and is a director at IndOil Montney Ltd, Canada, another IndianOil WoS. arvInDar SInGH SaHney Chairman, IndianOil in Goa, Oman and New Delhi. He was bureau chief of Marathi daily Pudhari for 25 years. In Goa, he worked for Rashtramat and The West Coast Times. He appealed to the government to create a memorial in Margao dedicated to Keni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Educationist Anil Pai worked with Chandrakant Keni, who was the editor of the Marathi daily Rashtramat, and shared his experience of how Keni was a versatile personality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
